Privately held businesses: the lifeblood of the global economy
The complete findings for the International Business Report (IBR) 2009 - Global Overview; reflects the turbulence the global financial crisis has on many economies. IBR saw many results tipping into negative territory for the first time in the survey’s 17-year history. There is however pockets of opportunities for businesses to grow and build as the economic climate improve and business confidence returns.
Indeed, any recovery in the economy will need privately held businesses to be at the forefront to drive new business, employment and trade. To achieve this:

businesses need to ensure their operations are as efficient as possible

they need to adjust to the new level of demand while working on innovative ways to develop products and market share

their access to credit needs to improve to help working capital and long term funding needs.
With the publication of global overview, a podcast on financial services has also been launched.
